Humboldt Crabs axe Lumberjacks

The Lumberjacks were defeated by the scores of 10-1 and 1-0 against the Humboldt Crabs.  The Jacks scored in game one from a double crushed by Jeff Tanaka off the left field wall, and an RBI groundout from Tom Macari.  In game two, Rob Ellis was absolutely dominant, giving up only a single unearned run to take the tough-luck loss.  In 2013 there is a very good chance the Lumberjacks will get a weekend series vs Humboldt, and will be able to bring the entire squad.

Lumberjacks sweep Fontanettis

The Lumberjacks are on quite a roll, sweeping the Fontanettis Athletics 11-1 and 10-2 on Saturday.  Wayne Franklin pitched well in game one, and Daniel Gilbert and Mike Taylor pitched the second game.  The team has improved to 6-2 in league and 16-6 overall.  These were the big double-headers wins needed to help essentially lock a place in the State Tournament for the Jacks on July 20th-22nd.
